Since 1986, we’ve created 1,000 housing solutions for more than 2,600 people and successfully advocated for fair housing policies at the city, county, and state levels. Your Impact: 

  •   Manage a portfolio of individual donors with a capacity of $1,000 gift potential toward a specific annual fundraising goal. Assist in increasing the number of overall major donors to Habitat.
  •  Create an individualized cultivation plan for each donor that leads to successfully retaining or upgrading donors and gifts as appropriate using the annual luncheon and build days as incentives.
  • Secure and prepare for donor meetings; conduct donor research, prepare proposals, personalized materials and approaches and arrange meeting logistics.
  • Articulate Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County's needs, values, and ambitions through excellent informal and formal communications.
  •  Demonstrates a keen sense of curiosity - seeking to understand each donor's motivation by asking the right questions - and be able to steer conversations accordingly.
  •  Partner with Resource Development staff, senior staff and/or volunteers on donor engagement opportunities.
  • Track and maintain donor activity and cultivation plans in Raiser's Edge database (NXT) and provide accurate and timely reports.
  •  Works independently and is self-motivated in initiating contact with donors.
    •  Annual Luncheon (e.g., Honoree planning & recognition, Table Captain outreach & coordination, Showcase planning & coordination, Sponsor cultivation/renewals & recognition coordination)
    • Mailings & Appeals (e.g., Annual Report, Year-End, membership program, etc.)
    • Large build events (e.g., Women Build, Corporate Build, HYP, Interfaith Build)
    •  Other fundraising events and efforts (e.g., RD Committee, Women Build Committee, GiveBIG, donor research, donor visit packets)
  • •    Encourage participation in Habitat SKC's giving clubs including the $1,000 Builders Society, Cornerstone Society and the Legacy Society for planned giving.
    •    Collaborate with development team colleagues to forecast revenue and strategize donor relationships.
    •    Assist in other development team activities as assigned including:
Qualifications:

What You Bring: 

  •  Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field.
  •   Minimum of 3-5 years of front-line experience with major gifts and fundraising event planning.
  •    Demonstrated success in personally cultivating, soliciting, closing and stewarding major gifts from individuals. Proven ability to bring creativity and effective strategies to the major gift pipeline.
  •   Ability to engage senior staff and board members in donor visits, and to earn and maintain their confidence.
  •  Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills required. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be detailed oriented and work under pressure of multiple and subsequent deadlines.
  •     Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, to listen actively, and to engage, inspire and persuade.
  •    Ability to learn new business software programs, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media.
  •   Good working knowledge, appreciation for, and understanding of Habitat SKC programming and mission. Understanding of the Seattle philanthropic community.
  •    Experience in soliciting annual, special, multi-year campaign commitments and planned gifts.
  •    Use of data analysis and donor analytics to identify donor trends.
  •  Project management skills and experience.
  •   Excellent organizational and time management skills with an aptitude to prioritize tasks to meet conflicting deadlines.
  •   Excellent interpersonal, presentation, collaboration, and communication skills - both written and verbal - which transcend diverse audiences.
  •   Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, as well as provide consistent, high-quality service to a wide variety of internal and external constituents.
  • Proficient in Raiser's Edge software or compatible fundraising software.
  •    Operation of a motor vehicle as part of the position's duties is required, as is a valid driver's license.
  •   Willingness to work, volunteer and build alongside donors at Habitat builds and events.
