Summary
The RePair Specialist works directly with the RePair Supervisor to rehabilitate homes in our community for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region's RePair Program. This program provides repairs on homes with a focus on emergency, accessiblity, and aging-in-place repairs. This is an opportunity to get direct experience in all areas of the construction trade.
Responsibilities
General Tasks
- Work with RePair Supervisor and volunteers to assist with completion of housing rehabilitation projects.
- Perform special projects and complete all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
- Attending applicable meetings.
- Identify patterns and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Rehabilitation Site Operations:
- Assist in completing tasks
- Maintaining a safe work environment for self and fellow volunteers
- Cleaning and organizing the work site
- Other tasks as assigned
- Assists in coordination of material purchases, deliveries, tracking, and forecasting
Required Skills / Experience / Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and independently, and 80 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to work independently, cooperatively, and under supervision
- Duties require skills in areas of residential construction/rehabilitation, process, reasoning, and mathematics.
- Must be able to climb ladders, use and demonstrate use of construction and power equipment.
- Valid Driver's License, ability to drive affiliate vehicle(s), and insurable under affiliate driver's policy.
- Able and willing to work with a diverse group of people, including families, volunteers, subcontractors, and other community volunteers.
