JOB SUMMARY:

ReStore and Community Engagement Manager Wilson County is responsible for leading both the Wilson County community engagement and day-to-day retail operations of the Wilson County Restore. This role will serve as the primary ambassador for the ReStore in Wilson County, building and maintaining relationships with corporate and local businesses, community organizations, and key stakeholders to generate a consistently increasing community awareness in support of the business plan.

This manager leads all aspects of Wilson Restore operations of customer service, merchandising, inventory flow, and financial performance to ensure strong sales and profitability. Success in this role requires the ability to connect community relationships directly to store performance, driving both donation growth and retail sales while fostering a culture aligned with the Habitat mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of the ReStore and Community Engagement Manager-Wilson County is to successfully manage and engage the Wilson County Community as a part of HFHGN’s 3-store ReStore network (Dickson, Davidson, and Wilson County stores). Success includes meeting ambitious growth goals through both community engagement and high-performing retail operations. On the sales floor, the Manager is in ongoing contact with the staff and customers to ensure positive customer experience and growth in sales. He/she manages the daily flow of donations coming in, and determines pricing and floor set up. Also manages ReStore staff and partners with volunteers on store activities. He/she is responsible for ensuring that staff members provide great customer service. He/she ensures all ReStore policies and procedures are followed and participates in and supports agency activities as requested.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Community Engagement & Donation Development (50%)

  • Establish and maintain relationships with corporate and local businesses, builders, property managers, and community organizations.
  • Partner with the ReStore Corporate Donations Manager to identify and grow strategic partnerships for reliable pipeline of high-quality donations to support store sales.
  • Represent the ReStore at community events, networking opportunities, and local meetings to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Ensure a professional, positive donor experience to encourage repeat giving.
  • Build relationships with Habitat staff and Advisory Council members serving Wilson County.
  • Support volunteer engagement and group partnerships to strengthen community involvement.

ReStore Operations & Performance (50%)

  • Lead all day-to-day operations of the ReStore, including sales, staffing, and customer experience.
  • Work collaboratively with ReStore Managers, the Corporate Donation Manager, and the Deconstruction Manager to coordinate donation opportunities, operational needs, and community partnership efforts across the ReStore network.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the sales floor to support staff and ensure positive customer experience.
  • Manage the daily flow of donations, including intake, pricing, merchandising, and stock control.
  • Ensure efficient and courteous donation acceptance processes.
  • Oversee pricing strategies and merchandising to maximize sales.
  • Manage budgets to meet growth and profitability objectives.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling, security procedures, and financial controls.
  • Support donation pickups and Deconstruction activities as needed.
  • Manage the annual physical inventory process.
  • Ensure all Habitat for Humanity International and Affiliate policies are followed.
  • Participate in and support agency initiatives and activities as requested.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Balance external relationship building and internal store operations to drive overall performance
  • Recruits and manages ReStore staff in accordance with overall company policies and specific job expectations
  • Understands, communicates, monitors and achieves financial and other performance expectations for the Wilson County ReStore
  • Ensures the financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to company security practices and cash control procedures
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills and the ability to work with others of diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
  • Manages difficult situations quickly, fairly, and in accordance with company policies.
  • Assure safety compliance.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five or more years of management experience in a retail environment required, with strong preference for prior Habitat ReStore management experience in a ReStore with annual revenues of at least $400,000.
  • Proven success in relationship building, business development, or public relations.
  • Proven track-record of managing rapid revenue growth, with strong preference specifically for experience growing Habitat ReStore operations; prior retail experience highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and inventory donation pipelines with corporate donors.
  • Proven teamworking and leadership skills.
  • Experience setting, tracking and managing a detailed store budget.
  • College degree or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
  • Requires valid Tennessee driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • Must have the ability and desire to work respectfully with people of all cultures, languages, national origins, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, classes, immigration statuses, sexual orientations, gender identity and expressions, ages, mental or physical abilities, and other diversity factors. Must conduct all activities in accordance with Habitat principles.

TIME REQUIREMENTS:

Full Time, requiring 40 hours per ReStore work week, Tuesday through Saturday. Other hours may be required to attend events and meetings outside the normal work week/hours.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
