Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
• Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish preparation and ingredient selection
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations
• Support food presentation efforts to ensure visually appealing dishes are served promptly
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service times
• Follow all food handling protocols to prevent contamination and ensure quality control

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a dietary aide in a restaurant or healthcare setting
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
• Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is highly desirable
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and serving personnel
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and experience working within dietary departments or healthcare kitchens is a plus

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
