Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards throughout all food handling processes
- Plan menus that highlight fresh ingredients and innovative flavor combinations
- Ensure consistent quality in food preparation, presentation, and portion control
- Manage kitchen operations related to sushi preparation, including ingredient storage and inventory management
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional customer service in a fine dining setting
- Assist with catering events and special menu offerings as needed
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations
Qualifications
- 5-7 years proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry, preferably in fine dining or high-end restaurants
- Strong knife skills and expertise in Japanese culinary techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning and creative food presentation
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent food preparation skills including cooking, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in sushi preparation and general culinary tasks
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene
- Passion for culinary arts with a focus on sushi craftsmanship
