Job Title: Plumbing Helper
Reports To: Lead Plumber / Plumbing Foreman
Position Summary
The Plumbing Helper assists licensed plumbers and plumbing technicians with the installation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This position is responsible for supporting field operations by preparing materials, maintaining tools and equipment, performing basic plumbing tasks, and ensuring job sites remain clean, safe, and organized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist plumbers with installation of water, sewer, gas, and drainage piping systems.
- Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Dig trenches and excavations for underground plumbing installations.
- Cut, measure, assemble, and secure piping under supervision.
- Assist with fixture installations, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, faucets, and other plumbing equipment.
- Perform demolition, concrete cutting, and removal as needed for plumbing repairs and new installations.
- Help locate and expose existing plumbing systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment safely.
- Stock company vehicles and maintain inventory of materials and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other trades.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous construction or plumbing experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to learn plumbing systems, tools, and materials.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take direction.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, trenches, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.

Typical Pay Range: $15.00–$25.00 per hour (depending on experience and location).
