The Position
As an Avionics Technician IV, you will apply your expertise to conduct avionics maintenance, ensuring compliance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations. You will handle the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics components, while maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals. Your role involves addressing moderately complex tasks and ensuring high-quality standards in all technical operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct avionics maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs per FAA and company standards
- Install, test, and validate avionics components and systems following technical specifications
- Diagnose and fix avionics malfunctions using diagnostic tools and schematics
- Calibrate and maintain test equipment and avionics tools
- Route wires and perform electrical installations, repairs, soldering, and crimping
- Adhere to safety protocols when working with hazardous materials and outdoor conditions
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced technicians
- Use spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and Pitot static equipment for testing avionics
- Record maintenance activities and ensure accurate reporting in compliance with standards
- Assist with avionics systems for DoD or military operations
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No immediate direct reports
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Must have own tools in good working order
- Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex, technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings
- Advanced skills with moderately complex avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering and crimping techniques
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL
- Ability to mentor and guide subordinates
- Basic understanding of spectrometer, Oscilloscope and/or Pitot static equipment
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required
Work Environment
- On-site position located in Hagerstown, MD
- This is a 1 year contract
Compensation
- Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $40 - $45, with additional benefits

- Because this client is a Federal Government Contractor performing services for the DoD, US Air Force, NASA and others, they do require US, Non-Dual Citizenship
