What are the responsibilities and job description for the FERTILIZATION TECHNICIAN position at H&T Services?
The Fertilization Technician must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of chemicals that are used by the Company. The Fertilization Technician must be able to correctly analyze, diagnose, and treat problems arising from disease, improper care, etc. A successful Fertilization Technician will possess or be able to obtain an Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) Certified Pesticide Applicator certificate, be able to develop an effective preventative maintenance program for customers, operate effectively with minimal supervision, and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
Job Skills & Personal Characteristics
- Minimum of two years’ experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy.
- One-year experience using a motorized spreader/sprayer.
- ODA Certified Pesticide Applicator certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
- Able to correctly analyze, diagnose, and treat lawn issues.
- Able to develop and implement an effective preventative maintenance program for customer.
- Operate under minimal supervision.
Physical Demands
- Physically able to handle the workload of a Fertilization Technician.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis without assistance.
- Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
- Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks.
- Wear work boots, company uniforms, and present yourself in a clean and professional manner.
- Must wear provided company personal protective equipment (PPE).
