MOWING TEAM LEADER

Mowing Foreman / Summary

As a Mowing Foreman, you are a hands-on leader of 1-4 crew members. Together you perform quality mowing services for our customers in a safe and efficient manner. This includes mowing, edging, cleanup of properties using a backpack blower, bed and pavement weed control, fall clean-up of leaves and other duties as assigned. All employees are expected to carry out the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Job Skills & Personal Characteristics

• Minimum of 3-5 years managing crews and landscaping projects.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• An associate’s degree preferred.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy.
• A Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) certificate preferred.
• Proficient or able to learn customer relationship management (CRM) software.
• Proficient in both oral and written communications.
• Able to uphold and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure safety of landscape field personnel and properly report accidents and/or injuries.
• Ensure jobs are scheduled and completed within budget.
• Hire, terminate, train, evaluate, and supervise mowing team.
• Ensure all equipment is operable, ready for deployment and safe for use.
• Assist in development and implementation of the Company’s training goals.

As a Mowing Foreman at Seasons Best Landscaping, you must be able to perform the following essential functions of the job:

•  Use various pieces of equipment such as a stand-on mower, riding mower, push mower, string trimmer, and various hand tools
• Manage the entire scope of our projects including job layout, materials, and required paperwork
• Use other various pieces of equipment and hand tools
• Drive a commercial vehicle and pull a trailer
• Manage and develop your crew
• Effectively communicate with customers, crew members and management
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with our customers
• Properly use a company ERP system for job tracking purposes to include but not limited to hours, work orders, expense reports & etc.
• Supervise a snow zone during the winter including managing crews, location, and quality control
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Perform any other duties as assigned
• Foster a positive work environment with respect

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience leading crews
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to meet fleet insurance standards
• Proficient in driving truck and trailer
• Must have advanced mowing equipment experience
• Previous experience setting up commercial mowing sites, preferred
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong computer skills and the ability to adapt to new software programs
• Must be able to move and/or lift, up to, 60 pounds consistently
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required
• Must be able to work in changing work conditions. We work hard to create beautiful landscapes in our communities. That includes working in various weather conditions, outdoors. Plowing ahead in this industry is rewarding. Expect to get dirty, get working, and get paid fast

• Labor efficiency 90% or greater
• Non-billable shop/yard hours not to exceed 2 hours/day
