Job Summary

The Trailer Tracking Specialist plays a crucial role in the logistics and fleet management team, responsible for monitoring, managing, and coordinating the location and status of all trailers within the company’s fleet. Key responsibilities include tracking trailer movements using Samara, Thermo King, and XTRA Lease, updating records in real-time, and generating reports on trailer availability and usage. The Specialist collaborates closely with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff to relay accurate and timely information regarding trailer status, thereby facilitating smooth operations and enhancing communication among teams. This position requires strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to analyze data effectively. Excellent communication skills are essential for conveying complex information clearly and establishing effective working relationships within the operational framework. A background in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the real-time location and temperature of all company trailers using tracking systems.

• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, assignments, and availability in the company database.

• Coordinate with dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse personnel to ensure trailers are allocated and utilized efficiently.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to trailer location, usage, temperature, or status.

• Generate and distribute reports on trailer utilization and temperature.

• Notify relevant teams of any trailer issues or temperature deviations of /- 6 degrees.

• Support inventory management by tracking both loaded and empty trailers at various facilities or customer sites.
