Title - M365 Power Platform Software Developer
Client - IRS
Location - Washington, DC

We are looking for two expert M365 Power Platform Software Developers
to accelerate application development and process automation for the IRS. These roles require
deep expertise in the Power Platform stack, coupled with strong traditional development skills
for robust, secure, and integrated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM): Drive the entire application development
lifecycle using core Power Platform components: Power Apps, Power Automate, and
Power BI. This includes requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and
maintenance of mission-critical applications.
  • Custom Code Solutions: Utilize advanced .NET development skills (C#, ASP.Net MVC,
Entity Framework, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) to build, customize, and integrate complex
solutions. This is essential for creating custom APIs, web parts, and backend services to
extend functionality beyond standard Power Platform connectors.
  • Data Integration: Demonstrate proficiency in establishing and managing data
connections across disparate systems, ensuring secure and efficient data flow into and
out of Dataverse environments.
  • Innovation and AI: Lead the implementation of emerging technologies, including Copilot
for Power Apps, Copilot for Power Automate, and AI Builder, to accelerate application
deployment and integrate predictive analytics and intelligent automation into IRS
workflows.
  • Customization and Extension: Be responsible for customizing SharePoint lists and
disparate systems using PowerApps. This includes ensuring custom code integrates
cleanly and securely with the SharePoint Online framework.
  • Security and Compliance: Apply expertise in security best practices to development
efforts, ensuring all deployed applications adhere to IRS data retention, privacy, and
compliance settings.
  • Automation for Administration: Assist with developing PowerShell scripts for M365
administration and support tasks. This includes scripts for managing user permissions,
configuration changes, and the administration of OneDrive features.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting assistance for
complex user issues related to Power Apps and Power Automate, often serving as a Tier
3 escalation point.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance tuning for
all developed applications to ensure high quality and reliability.
  • Documentation: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical reference
materials, including developer guides and application documentation, to support
seamless operational turnover.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in software development, with at least 5 years focused on
the Microsoft ecosystem, including M365 and SharePoint.
  • Must demonstrate strong proficiency in .NET development skills.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps,
Power BI, Flow).
  • Must possess advanced proficiency in creating PowerShell scripts.

  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204)
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert (PL-600)
