Accounts Payable Clerk

Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is looking for the ideal Accounts Payable Associate! The accounts payable associate compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data to accounts payable records. Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares, sorts, copies, and files invoices, correspondence, and other requested items.
• Audits invoices against purchase orders.
• Posts invoices into accounting system for payment.
• Balances monthly statements.
• Assists in monthly and annual closing. 
• Provides daily payment information and totals.
• Assists with related special projects, as required.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited educational institution or three months related training and/or experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience using various spreadsheet, word processing and specialized accounting software.
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Mathematical skills

Preferred Skills, Education and Experience

• Associate degree in accounting, business administration or related field
• Experience with accounts payable in heavy civil construction, road construction or other heavy industry

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear
• Frequently required to sit
• Occasionally required to stand,k walk stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; life and/or move up to 15 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required are closevision; ability to adjust focus

• Noise level is usually quiet
