The Engineering Manager leads a team supporting two manufacturing sites in South Bend, IN, driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. This role focuses on continuous improvement, capital project execution, and developing engineering talent in a process safety environment. The position partners cross-functionally to optimize operations and implement scalable, data-driven solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
The salary for this role is $135,000-$160,000.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and develop an engineering team, including coaching, performance management, and succession planning
- Drive process improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance
- Manage capital projects ($2M–$4M annually), including scope, budget, scheduling, and execution
- Apply data analysis, automation, and technology to optimize manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to solve complex production challenges
- Lead structured change management initiatives to support adoption and sustain improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards, including Process Safety Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 7 years of engineering experience in chemical or process manufacturing environments
- 3 years of people leadership or supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes (e.g., cost savings, efficiency gains)
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification and experience managing capital projects in a regulated environment
- Experience with PLC systems (e.g., Rockwell), SAP, and standard engineering software tools
- Work authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or PMP certification
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF, AS9100)
- Experience with CMMS systems and advanced data analytics tools
