What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Leader (Shorty Howell Park) position at Gwinnett County?
This Program Leader will be responsible for assisting with programming and daily operations at Shorty Howell Park Activity Building. The incumbent will be providing quality customer service to internal personnel and external members of the community and public including, but not limited to senior citizens, unhoused or underprivileged populations. Additionally, this position will work with volunteer-run non-profit organizations as well as develop and implement special indoor and outdoor/nature events.
Essential Duties
- Interacting with user groups, associations, and other agencies
- Assisting with special events and programming for facilities
- Maintaining communication with staff and management
- Supporting and providing continuous training for part-time staff
- Maintaining safe operating environments and facilities
- Assisting in enforcing policies and procedures for facility user groups
- Assisting in public relations, to include hearing and resolving complaints, as well as publicizing programs
- Completing and processing paperwork, including permit requests, and preparing and maintaining various records and reports
- Completing CivicRec entries for camps, programs, and classes
- Performing other duties of a similar nature
Other Job Requirements/Information
- Must be able to work a variety of hours, weekends, daytime, evenings, and holidays
Grade
The grade for this position is B22(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree in parks and recreation, health and human services, senior services, history, or education AND
- One year of experience in parks and recreation, health and human services, senior services, history, or education OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- CPR and First Aid certification within the first 6 months of employment
- Valid driver's license
