Job Overview
Join our team as a Seafood Packer, a hands-on, detail-oriented role at the heart of our daily operations. This position is focused on accuracy, organization, and learning the flow of a wholesale seafood business from the ground up. You’ll be trained to read invoices, pull and pack orders, weigh and record fresh-cut fish, maintain a clean workspace, and gradually expand into delivery responsibilities. This is an entry-level role with clear skill progression and real exposure to the seafood supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Read customer invoices and packing lists to determine daily orders
- Retrieve seafood products from the shellfish cooler and cold storage accurately and efficiently
- Weigh fresh-cut fish, label packages, and record weights clearly and correctly
- Pack seafood orders carefully to ensure quality, freshness, and proper presentation
- Assist with daily cleaning and sanitation of the shop, coolers, and work areas
- Help organize inventory and alert supervisors to shortages or issues
- Learn proper handling procedures for fresh and frozen seafood
- Within the first month, begin training on delivery routes and order drop-offs
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read invoices, follow written instructions, and pay close attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a cold environment (coolers, ice, refrigerated spaces)
- Willingness to learn weighing, labeling, and basic record-keeping processes
- Physically able to stand for long periods, lift boxes, and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to help where needed
- No prior seafood experience required — training provided
- Valid driver’s license preferred (required as you move into delivery training)
