Gustavus Veterinary Services is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our established mixed-animal practice located in northeast Ohio. We provide high-quality medical and surgical care to both companion animals and livestock while building lasting relationships with the families and producers we serve.
We are proud to be a rural, independently-owned mixed animal practice! We provide both small and large animal medicine through ambulatory and haul-in services. Our service territory extends from NE Ohio to NW Pennsylvania.
We are currently a two doctor practice providing care for dogs, cats, cows (beef and dairy), goats, sheep, pigs, horses, poultry, guinea pigs, and rabbits. We refer most after hours small animal emergencies to local emergency clinics, but do provide large animal emergency services for current clients. A dedicated technician answers calls after hours and directs information as needed.

What You'll Do:
- Provide medical, surgical, and preventive care for small and large animals.
- Perform wellness exams, diagnostics, and surgical procedures.
- Develop treatment plans and educate clients on preventive health and herd management.
- Interpret laboratory results and diagnostic imaging.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Collaborate with our experienced veterinary and support staff to provide exceptional patient care.
On-Call Schedule:
Our on-call responsibilities are designed to support both our clients and our team's work-life balance.
- Shared on-call rotation with our veterinarians.
- Emergency coverage is limited to current large-animal clients only.
- No routine after-hours small animal emergency duty.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary college.
- Ohio veterinary license in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
- Category II USDA Accreditation in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
- Strong communication and client relationship skills.
- Interest in practicing mixed-animal medicine.
- A collaborative attitude and commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care.
