Pay: $19.01/hour

This role offers flexible availability to work throughout the year or only during the summer months! Gusmer Enterprises, a family-owned manufacturer of filtration products, is hiring student labor for entry level production roles with paid training at a rate of $19.01 per hour! Shift differential, and overtime pay is available.

Depending on manufacturing needs successful candidates will be assigned by management to work as a Material Convertor or Molder Operator. Hours and shifts will vary based on the needs of the department.

Material Converters and Molder Operators

• Perform job duties in accordance with all International Organization for Standardization (ISO) procedures.

• Accurately complete all paperwork to meet ISO requirements along with additional documentation and computer data entry.

• Maintain a clean organized workstation to meet ISO and customer audit requirements while keeping surroundings clear of contaminants.

Material Converters:

• Are responsible for the die cutting, inspection, packaging, labeling, and palletizing of finished filtration products, along with clean-up of production equipment.

• Die cut, inspect, package, palletize, and label finished goods while ensuring work area is clean, safe, and free of mechanical problems.

• Communicate with co-workers, crew leaders, and lab personnel.

Molder Operators:

• Are responsible for making components and assembling filter cells into manufactured products called Devices.

• Minimize down time by proactively completing set up duties in preparation for grade changes. Adjust injection molders, vibration welders, test equipment, and label printers within set parameters.

• Conduct basic quality checks on products before they are moved to packing.

Other Duties

• Notifies Maintenance Department of equipment malfunctions as required.

• Participates in continuous improvement activities as needed.

• Performs other Material Convertor/Molder Operator duties as assigned.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements

• 18 years or older.

• The Union Contract Requires that students may be hired for student labor (SL) if the following criteria are met:
o They should have been or will be attending school within a 90-day period. Proof of enrollment is required.
o Within that 90-day time period, SLs are required to have carried or be enrolled to carry a credit load equal to at least 75% of the credit load for a full- time student.
o No employee may be employed as SL for longer than a total of 5 years from start of employment.

• Ability to use Aurora, Mattec, Paycom, other computer programs, and technology.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

• Stand for extended periods during machine operation.

• Walk between workstations and throughout the facility.

• Perform repetitive tasks such as reaching, bending, stooping, or twisting.

• Use hands for writing, keyboarding, and operating equipment.

• Lift, carry, or push up to 65 pounds.

• Maintain manual dexterity and eye hand coordination to operate production equipment and forklifts.

• Maintain adequate hearing to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.

• Maintain visual acuity to read paper documents, computer screens, and inspect products.

Working Conditions

• Environment: Primarily works in a manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, and temperature variations.

• Safety Requirements: Must adhere to all company safety policies, wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), and comply with OSHA and facility safety standards.
