What are the responsibilities and job description for the Energy Specialist position at Gus Perdikakis Associates?
We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Specialist to perform on-site residential energy assessments and help customers reduce energy usage while enhancing their overall experience. This is a customer-facing, technical role that combines energy auditing, education, consultative sales, and relationship management in support of our client.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct in-home energy analyses, inspections, and equipment troubleshooting (HVAC, ductwork, insulation, appliances, windows, roofing).
- Educate and motivate customers to implement cost‑effective energy efficiency measures.
- Promote applicable energy efficiency programs and meet program performance targets.
- Serve as the customer’s primary point of contact, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Attend community events, trade shows, and HOA presentations as a company ambassador.
- Support storm restoration and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Energy Management a plus)
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive up to 100 miles/day
- Field-based role in customers’ homes with the ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and lift up to 25 lbs
- Must pass respirator clearance and wear PPE
- Must live within 30 minutes of Sebring, FL
Preferred Qualifications
- Energy Auditor Certification
- Customer service or consultative sales experience
- Knowledge of energy efficiency practices
