Litigation Paralegal

Gus Anastopoulo Law Firm
Charleston, SC Full Time
POSTED ON 9/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/28/2027

Gus Anastopoulo Law Firm is a growing plaintiff personal injury firm. Our attorneys represent victims of catastrophic injury and wrongful death across South Carolina. This seat keeps the firm's litigation docket moving, working directly with our litigation attorneys on cases headed to mediation and trial. The docket is expanding, and the scope of this seat expands with it. This role fits someone who has already done the job. Maybe you trained on the defense side and want to switch sides. Maybe you have done this work for years and want a firm that is growing. Either way, you are not here to learn the job. You are here to use what you already know.

What we require

  • Proven litigation paralegal experience. You have carried a litigation caseload and know what a scheduling order demands, and more importantly, how to meaningfully move a case forward toward critical deadlines and case milestones.
  • Working knowledge of the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure and state court filing
  • The ability to work autonomously. Organization that does not need chasing or constant reminding. You track deadlines, hearings, and open items on your own. You know when to follow up, and how to do it.
  • Clean, careful drafting. Your work goes out under an attorney's signature and reads like it. You take pride in your work product, and understand the gravity of acting as a representative for the firm's attorneys, and the firm more generally.
  • Fast adoption of new software and daily comfort with AI tools
  • Judgment and candor. When a deadline is at risk or a file is off track, you say so early.
  • Ownership. When something slips, you fix it and make sure it cannot slip the same way twice.

Trial preparation

  • Build exhibit lists, trial notebooks, and witness files, and support the attorneys through trial
