Rehab Aide

Gurwin Healthcare System is a full healthcare continuum providing extraordinary care to the Long Island community and beyond. Set primarily on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Gurwin's Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish : Fay J. Lindner Residences), our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens), Island Nursing and Rehab Center, and two certified (CHHA) and licensed home care (LHCSA) agencies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• HS diploma or GED required
• One year long-term care experience and CPR certification preferred.
  
  
  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and provide all new admissions wheelchairs on the day of admission.
• Provide and exchange wheelchairs for all residents.
• Performance of small repairs and maintenance of all wheelchairs.
• Organize rehab storage units.
• Monitor and organize DME rehab supply orders.
• Assist with residents’ transport before lunch daily.
• Weekly wheelchairs inspections and document them.
• Daily hot pack and ice pack machine maintenance and temperature log in.
• Strip all newly provided wheelchairs from anti tippers and oxygen holders.
• Act as Rehab Transporter in absence of one.
