The Howard County Housing Commission (HCHC) is seeking an experienced Fee Accounting Consultant to provide accounting and financial consulting services for its public housing and affordable housing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:β Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records for assigned properties.
β Map and reconcile financial statements to the Commission's Yardi chart of accounts.
β Perform monthly financial statement analysis, variance analysis, and delinquency monitoring.
β Assist with operating budgets, budget revisions, and financial forecasting.
β Prepare fiscal reports, consolidated financial statements, and year-end financial reports.
β Complete HUD Financial Data Schedule (FDS) statements and support annual audits.
β Reconcile payroll taxes and liability allocations using ADP payroll data.
β Provide internal audit support and attend management and Board meetings as requested.
β
Property accounting and financial reporting experience.
β
Experience with Yardi or similar property management accounting systems.
β
Knowledge of HUD financial reporting and public housing accounting requirements.
β
Experience with budgeting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
β
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
β
Experience supporting government, public housing authorities, or affordable housing organizations preferred.
