Job Summary:
Experienced accountant to perform trading desk accounting processes, monthly close, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset, strong analytical skills, and proven accounting ability. Role will report directly to the Accounting Manager in Houston, Texas.

GUSA – Staff Desk Accountant
Job Summary:

Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
- Strong working knowledge of financial accounting
- Understanding of commodity trading or energy business
- Self-motivated, results oriented, and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in Excel
- Ability to independently research and analyse; discuss conclusions with management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Team oriented with willingness to train colleagues
- Perform monthly economic to accounting Profit & Loss statement reconciliations
- Review inventory and book accruals for commodity activity
- Account for commodity trading transactions (purchases, sales, costs).
- Validate AR/AP balances for assigned Trade desks/commodities
- Ensure accuracy and consistency with Trading system data
- Review balance sheet, cash movements, and working capital for assigned desks
- Quarterly / Year-end
- Participate in Quarter End reporting activities
- Compile pertinent data for management reporting and financial statements
- Participate in Year End audit and financial statement preparation, as needed
