About the Role
Gunthers is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to ensure we get paid accurately and on time on our commercial projects. You'll own monthly progress billings, track down the paperwork that holds up payment, and handle daily cash deposits and posting. This position is available as full-time or part-time.

What You'll Do
Project Billing

• Prepare monthly progress billings (AIA G702/G703 or customer formats) with project managers
•  Set up billing for new jobs: contract value, schedule of values, retention, deadlines, and portal access
•  Add approved change orders and flag work billed on unapproved changes
• Track retention by job and bill it at closeout
• Submit billings through GC portals (Textura, Procore, etc.) on time
• Reconcile billed-to-date in Spectrum against pay apps monthly
•  Follow up on rejected or short-paid pay apps
• Provide billing data for WIP and month-end review

Lien Waivers and Compliance

•  Prepare and send Gunthers' conditional and unconditional lien waivers
• Collect lien waivers from subcontractors and suppliers before paying them
• Assemble billing packets with insurance certificates, waivers, and required backup
• Track outstanding items by job and follow up until received
•  Monitor preliminary notice and lien deadlines and flag at-risk jobs

Daily Cash

• Deposit checks daily via remote deposit capture
• Post payments in Spectrum and Service Titan, including partials and retention
• Resolve unapplied or unidentified receipts
• Produce the daily cash report by source and division
• Keep deposit records organized for monthly bank reconciliation

What We're Looking For

• Experience in accounts receivable, billing, or construction accounting is a plus, but not required
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail and a persistent, organized approach to follow-up
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication
