Requirements:
To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Two (2) years supervisory experience and three (3) years in environmental service or another health care related service department preferred.
- Licenses/Certification: The Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification must be initiated within one year of hire
Responsibilities:
We are committed to improving the health of our community by delivering exceptional care and services. As the leader of the Environmental Services Team you will:
- Coordinate and supervise the overall cleaning of all interior areas on all GVH owned/leased facilities. Leads staff in achieving a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Maintain a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout facility grounds. Prepares, maintains and documents cleaning schedules for staff.
- Complete recruiting, interviewing, training, coaching, evaluating, and managing performance, to maintain competent staff in adequate numbers
- Manage all quality improvement initiatives regarding training, auditing, inspecting, rounding, and make recommendations as needed.
- Collaborate with the VP of Operations to establish dashboard metrics to track operations and improvement initiatives
- Maintain inventory control of equipment and supplies. Maintain all EVS equipment in proper working order. Assign equipment to staff; monitor daily equipment use, cleaning & maintenance. Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working condition at all times
- Facilitate monthly departmental staff meetings and development / training courses. Provide individual guidance & motivation to employees to ensure an engaged workforce.
- Takes a customer centered approach when addressing the needs of and interacting with patients, visitors, guests, team members and other health care workers
- Participate in Performance Improvement and professional development activities. Review patient satisfaction data monthly to ensure and maintain excellence in cleanliness of hospital and experience of patients.
- Prepares and manages annual operating budget; participates in capital expense budget planning. Maintains expenses within budget during year.
Compensation: $28.64 - $35.80/hr, depending on experience.
