Summary
Gulf Shores High School is seeking a dynamic Finance Teacher to lead instruction in our innovative hands-on Financial Literacy Lab. This role is designed to bring real-world financial concepts to life through experiential learning that prepares students for college, careers, and responsible financial decision-making.
The Finance Teacher will guide students through practical applications of business and personal finance, helping them develop skills in budgeting, investing, entrepreneurship, and economic decision-making. Working within a collaborative school environment, the teacher will inspire the next generation of leaders to explore opportunities in business, finance, and entrepreneurship while connecting fiscal concepts to real-world scenarios.

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging instruction in financial literacy, personal finance, and business fundamentals through a hands-on learning lab environment.
- Facilitate experiential learning activities that simulate real-world financial scenarios such as budgeting, investing, banking, and entrepreneurship.
- Inspire students to explore careers in business, finance, and related fields by connecting classroom concepts to real-world applications.
- Integrate technology, simulations, and project-based learning to enhance student engagement and financial decision-making skills.
- Create a collaborative classroom culture that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and responsible financial habits.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback that supports academic growth and financial competency development.
- Partner with school leadership, local businesses, and community organizations to enhance real-world learning opportunities.

Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid Alabama teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain certification).
Experience
- Experience teaching business, finance, or career and technical education (CTE) courses preferred.
- Industry experience in business, banking, finance, entrepreneurship, or related fields is highly valued.
- Experience with project-based or experiential learning environments is a plus.
Skills
- Strong understanding of financial literacy concepts and real-world financial applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to design engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
