Gulf Shores City Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Counselor to join our team at the new Gulf Shores High School. This position will play an important role in supporting students’ academic achievement, career readiness, and overall success through a comprehensive school counseling program.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community partners to provide guidance, counseling services, academic planning, and post-secondary support in a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support students in academic and career planning
- Provide individual and group counseling services
- Collaborate with families, faculty, and community resources to support student success
- Assist with student registration, scheduling, orientation, and transition activities
- Guide students in developing post-secondary education and career plans
- Interpret assessment data and communicate results to students, parents, and staff
- Promote a positive, student-focused school culture
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
- Valid Alabama certification in School Counseling
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
