What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard Pool - 20 position at Gulf Shores, City of (AL)?
Conducts routine inspections of pool and pool equipment including ladders, handles, and steps; inspects pool and ensures water is free of debris, drain covers are clean and secured, and handicap chair is clean and free of debris; ensures deck is clean and free of hazardous conditions. Completes daily safety checklist of equipment and Reports issues to CPO/Operations Specialist and Aquatics Supervisor.
Performs routine cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor, specialist or lead guards on duty to maintain the pool and deck area; scrubs tiles, concrete, and deck; cleans chrome; vacuums pool floor with handheld vac; empties skimmers; skims and brushes pools; power washes and blows outside decks. Reports issues to Aquatics Specialist and Aquatic Supervisor.
Monitors areas surrounding pool, changing areas, and public use areas; ensures phones are working and lifeguard stands are clean; empties trash; sweeps floors; checks locker rooms and sauna.
Completes daily log sheets, completes necessary incident and accident reports and communicates with FT LG-I/LG-II/Coordinator regarding events and necessary follow up. Checks email daily and completes assigned safety and cyber training tasks. Stays informed of any news, issues and assignments communicated by Supervisor
Responds to emergencies throughout Bodenhamer facility. Communicates with facility staff via walkie talkie and responds accordingly to incidents,, accidents and emergency issues according to code Red/Black policies.
Licenses and Certifications (depending upon assignment):
Necessary- ARC Lifeguard withCPR and First Aid for the professional rescuer r.24
Knowledge of:
Lifeguarding methods, practices, procedures and techniques and application of this knowledge to specific situations.
All applicable state, federal and local ordinances, laws, rules and regulations.
All computer applications and hardware related to performance of the essential functions of the job.
Department organization, standard operating guidelines and policies, rules, and regulations.
Skill in:
Understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
Learn job related material primarily through oral instruction and observation to effectively perform job duties. The learning consists primarily of on-the-job training.
Communicating orally and in writing with internal staff, clients, the general public, and other departmental staff in order to give and receive information in a courteous manner.
Operating and maintaining all assigned equipment required to perform the essential functions of the job.
