Mechanical and Technical Service Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanical and Technical Service Lead specialized in paper mills to drive operational excellence and ensure the seamless functioning of manufacturing processes. In this pivotal role, you will lead technical service initiatives, oversee maintenance activities, and provide expert guidance on mechanical systems across our paper production facilities (Travel to facilities required). Your expertise will help optimize machinery performance, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement efforts within a fast-paced, innovative environment. Responsibilities

• Complete mill maintenance work to proper specs.
• Compile reports.
• Train new team members.
• Inform mill management of mechanical and technical problems.
• Make parts.
• Communicate with mill personal.
• Lead and coordinate mechanical maintenance and technical service activities across paper mill operations, ensuring optimal machinery performance.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues related to paper manufacturing equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Provide technical guidance on the installation, commissioning, and upgrades of mechanical systems within the plant.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities.
• Conduct training sessions for technicians on mechanical systems, safety protocols, and new technologies to enhance team capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all maintenance and service operations.
• Utilize your mechanical knowledge to support manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing environments with strong mechanical knowledge related to paper mills or similar production facilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining complex machinery.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment safely.
• Solid understanding of warehouse processes for inventory management of spare parts and tools.
• Hands-on experience with machining techniques and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Ability to lead technical teams effectively while fostering a safety-conscious work environment.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and convey technical information clearly.
• Knowledge of safety standards relevant to manufacturing environments is essential. Pay: $50, $120,000.00 per year
