Responsibilities
- Travel to Paper Mill sites about 20-50% of your work time.
- Complete mill maintenance work to proper specs.
- Compile reports.
- Train new team members.
- Inform mill management of mechanical and technical problems.
- Make parts.
- Communicate with mill personal.
- Assist with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery including CNC lathes, milling machines, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Support the setup and operation of CNC programming and machining processes using Fanuc controls and CAM software.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD models to ensure precise fabrication.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify component dimensions.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling to assist in assembly or repair tasks.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste across shop operations.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols including proper use of forklifts and other equipment.
Qualifications

- Strong mechanical knowledge with an interest in manufacturing or machining environments.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and technical tasks.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs is a plus.
- Experience or coursework related to CNC programming or CNC machining is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines is a plus.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and power tools is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
