Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes using dental office management software - Dentrix
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental scheduling systems and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow
- Coordinating referral reports. Sending and receiving reports
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks
- Manage patient records by updating medical histories, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing information or directing calls appropriately while maintaining excellent phone etiquette
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office support role within a dental or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and health information management practices a plus
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or OpenDental
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and typing (including 10-key typing) for data entry and documentation review
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally over the phone and in person
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and perform insurance verification tasks efficiently
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and clinic documentation
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with medical billing, medical coding, office management procedures, and multi-line phone systems is advantageous
