GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Supervises social workers responsible for high-risk families, and/or individuals.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
This is a supervisory position that requires assigning and reviewing work/case records of the social workers being supervised. Work includes developing work plans, enforcing work standards for the positions within the control of this position. This position also requires interviewing, selection, developing performance appraisals, and training of new staff members, addressing disciplinary issues and handling employee grievances.

Physical Demands
An employee in this position must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The employee must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Working Conditions
Work consists of office environment. No adverse environmental conditions.
May Require Driving
This position may require driving for this position whether driving a County owned or personal vehicle to conduct county business such as but not limited to attending conferences, meetings, or any other county related functions. Motor Vehicle Reports may be verified for valid driver's license and that the driving record is compatible with the county's driving criteria.
If a personal vehicle is operated for county business proper insurance is maintained as per Guilford County's vehicle use policy.

- Track & coordinate revenue for services and keep staff abreast of updates as it relates to revenue.
- Supervise GAPS Unit.
- Supervise the LINKS Coordinator (SW-Protective Services), in addition to providing guidance to a full time Contract Person and part-time assistance.
- Supervise three (3) Eligibility Caseworkers.
- Supervise two (2) Data Entry Specialist who input the revenue forms into the state system.
- Liaison person for the Family Unification Program for both the City of Greensboro and the City of High Point.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of fiscal, state, and federal policies.
- Knowledge of social work best practices and delinquency prevention/intervention.
- Knowledge of social work practices.
- Knowledge of federal & state mandates for LINKS services.
- Knowledge of Medicaid policy.
- Knowledge of data entry procedure and SIS materials & updates.
- Ability to interpret fiscal reports and ability to communicate federal, state, and local guidelines to all staff.
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to supervise social workers responsible for serving high- risk families and individuals.
- Ability to communicate and interpret the federal & state mandates, policy and procedure regarding the LINKS program.
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to input information into the local and state data entry systems as well as SIS changes and updates as it relates to revenue.
- Ability to communicate any changes/expectations to all levels of staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- MSW from an accredited school of social work and two years professional social work or counseling experience
- BSW from an accredited school of social work and three years of professional social work or counseling experience
- Master's degree in a counseling field and two years professional social work or counseling experience
- Bachelors degree in a human service field or related curriculum and three years professional social work or counseling experience
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university and four years professional experience in a related human service field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization
- Must have possession of an appropriate driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina
- A motor vehicle record (MVR), background check, and drug screening will be conducted on candidates considered for positions
- Prefer North Carolina Social Services experience
