Position Summary
Guilford College invites applications for a Student Success Coach within the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. TRIO SSS is a federally funded initiative committed to increasing college retention, persistence, and graduation rates among first-generation students, income-eligible students, and students with disabilities.
The Student Success Coach plays a critical role in advancing Guilford College’s mission of inclusive excellence by providing holistic, student-centered support. This position serves as both a mentor and advocate, empowering students to navigate academic, personal, and career pathways while overcoming systemic and individual barriers to success.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Education, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with TRIO programs or similar initiatives serving underrepresented, first-generation, or at-risk student populations
- Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by TRIO-eligible students
- Experience in student coaching, advising, or program development focused on retention and student success
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field
- Knowledge of TRIO SSS regulations, federal reporting requirements, and student success best practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive, and student-centered environment
