Position Summary:
The Business Development Representative is a proactive sales role reporting to the Security Sales division of Guardian Security. This representative will play a critical role in building and nurturing the sales funnel for our multi-site strategic accounts team. The position focuses on outbound prospecting, lead generation, and qualifying opportunities to support customer acquisition and revenue growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-activity environment and is passionate about initiating conversations, uncovering needs, and creating opportunities for our outside sales team to close.
Schedule: M-F, 8-hour shift scheduled within our operating hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM PST.
*Your schedule may vary based on appointments, and occasional work outside Guardian’s standard hours may be required to meet client needs across multiple U.S. time zones. Responsibilities include managing calls and scheduling appointments nationwide.
Work Setting: Remote
Pay: Hourly rate of $24, plus bonus opportunities. If meeting the minimum quota of 10 qualified meetings per month, you would be making approximately $75,000 annually with performance-based bonuses.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
About the Position:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned as needed.
- Drives proactive outreach to new prospects via cold calls and emails to build a robust sales funnel
- Schedules in-person meetings at various conferences held throughout the year for Strategic Account Managers
- Understands customer needs and requirements through effective questioning and active listening
- Qualifies leads and routes viable opportunities to the outside sales team for follow-up and closure
- Uses CRM and sales outreach tools to find contacts at prospective companies
- Achieves monthly quota of 10 SQLs (Sales Qualified Leads) for the multi-site strategic accounts team
- Meets weekly activity quota
- Participates in virtual team meetings and trainings as needed
- Maintains accurate daily and weekly reporting including funnel updates and prospective client lists

- Proficient in leveraging tools like Apollo.io to identify, engage, and convert prospects into meetings through strategic outreach.

We know an endless loop of interviews can be draining! To combat this, our interview process is capped at 3 interviews:
• Phone screen with our internal recruiter (~30 minutes)
• Virtual interview with Regional Sales Manager (~45-60 minutes)
• Final virtual interview with Regional Sales Manager VP of Sales (~45-60 minutes)
Education and/or Experience:
• Sales and business development experience is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
• Valid and current Driver’s license with reliable transportation.
Computer Skills:
• Proficient MS Office Suite skills, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; Must be able to stand, walk, reach and bend for extended periods of time occasionally; Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus; Uses fingers, hands, arms when working with mouse, keyboard, monitors; possible use of headset while on calls.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to noise level from low to midrange due to others speaking on phones. This position will require multiple daily site visits when travelling to projects or clients.
