Role Overview
The Implementation Specialist II, EMR independently owns end-to-end implementations for
behavioral health treatment centers on the Kipu EMR platform. You will lead discovery, translate
clinical and operational requirements into configuration decisions, train end users, and drive
accountability for timelines and deliverables. This role operates with minimal oversight and
contributes to team quality through mentorship and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Discovery & Solution Design
• Lead discovery conversations to identify client goals, clinical workflows, pain points, and
constraints.
• Translate client requirements into clear, actionable configuration decisions aligned with
best practices.
• Challenge misaligned or risky requests respectfully, explaining tradeoffs and downstream
impacts.
Configuration & Data Quality
• Configure workflows, forms, and settings accurately on the first pass, anticipating edge
cases.
• Troubleshoot configuration issues by identifying root causes rather than treating
symptoms.
• Validate data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before import or
configuration.
Client Training & Adoption
• Deliver structured, goal-oriented training that prepares clients to use the system
independently.

• Coordinate with cross-functional partners when scope, risk, or complexity warrants it.
Go-Live Readiness & Adoption
• Prepare clients for go-live by validating that all readiness criteria are genuinely met.
• Support post-go-live adoption by driving engagement and tracking early usage
milestones.
• Contribute to process improvements and share learnings with peers and newer team
members.
Qualifications
Required
• 2-4 years of experience implementing an EMR or 3 years implementing other SaaS-
based software products.
• Demonstrated ability to lead discovery, configure systems, and train end users
independently.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead structured client meetings and drive
decisions.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing timelines.
Preferred
• Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or addiction treatment settings.
• Familiarity with project management and CRM tools such as Salesforce, Jira, or
Smartsheet.
• Experience mentoring or supporting newer team members.
