About Us
As a member of Guardian Recovery, we're a 48-bed treatment facility located in Plymouth, NH with a 20 year history of providing a world-class recovery program. The Plymouth House serves individuals with substance use disorder in need of detox and residential treatment services.
 
The Plymouth House is looking for a Clinical Director to join our team. This position plays a critical role in our operation’s leadership. We need to hire someone with a “player-coach” mentality to facilitate our mission. We play critical components of our patients early recovery and an instrumental part of the positive life changing decisions a person with substance use disorder must make as they enter the world drug/alcohol free.

Join Our Team
The Clinical Director will lead the management of all clinical functions of the facility and treatment services, being responsible for providing effective leadership to the clinical staff and directing all activities within the facility in accordance with standards of State and Federal regulations.

This person will maintain a small caseload as well, especially to provide expert guidance on cases with complex diagnosis and/or to provide staff-level clinical staffing coverage as needed.
 
This position will report to our Executive Director and play a critical, directional-level leadership role at The Plymouth House as senior level staff.
 
Qualification Requirements for Clinical Director:
  • Valid masters-level clinical license in the State of New Hampshire is required, which can be one or more of the following:
    • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (MLADC)
  • Masters degree in a relevant field is required, such as Addiction Studies, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Social Services, etc. Ideally, undergraduate studies will have been in a similar field.
  • Prior experience in some form of clinical leadership is required, which could be as a lead, supervisor, manager, director, and/or an equivalent title with similar responsibilities.
  • Prior clinical experience in a position that was focused in addiction/recovery care is required (detox, inpatient, and residential level of care is preferred, but outpatient experience can be considered).
  • Licensure as a Clinical Supervisor in the State of New Hampshire may be useful, but not at all required.
  • Advanced knowledge of 12-Step Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and/or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) would be beneficial, but optional.
Responsibilities of our Clinical Director:
  • Execute clinical philosophy in programming through effective clinical curriculum, education, training, staff development, and clinical supervision and ensure that staff performance and client experience is consistent with the highest standard of care.
  • Direct management and supervision of the clinical department including primary therapists, clinical supervisors, case/care managers, and group facilitators.
  • Collaborate with other departments within The Plymouth House to ensure excellent client care, including medical, nursing, operations, behavioral health technicians, 12-step/continuing care, etc.
  • Provide additional training and development to operational staff who interact with clients on a daily basis, including our behavioral health technicians.
  • Oversee the clinical department's compliance with legal policies, guidelines, licensing, and standards.
  • Ensure all medical records and other hospital documentation are current and within state and federal laws.
  • Manages budgets and stays within budgeting allocations and develops cost-effective methods to provide services with effective and efficient staffing.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
  • Provide and facilitate a safe and therapeutic environment to all staff and patients.
  • Maintain a small caseload of clients, but primarily to provide staffing coverage and/or guidance on complex cases/diagnosis.
  • Performs other tasks, as assigned.
 
Pay: A yearly salary ranging from $90,000 to $120,000 determined by work experience, education, training, certifications, licensure, and other similar qualifications.
