Cook/Buffet Cook

POSITION PURPOSE

The Cook is responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking food for clients and employees and for overseeing the kitchen. He/she will provide services to clients whose ages range from adult to geriatric.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

At least one experience is required composed of evidence of experience in above noted areas of practice, to include experience in the area of sanitation, hygiene, and food preparation.

Must have two years of sobriety prior to hire, if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self-help program.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

1. Prepare individual plates according to portion control standards.
2. Properly garnishing plates to assure attractiveness.
3. Help to prepare late trays, as needed.
4. Demonstrate knowledge/ability to break down stream tables and store leftovers in appropriate containers after properly labeling and dating.
5. Keep the work area clean and in sanitary condition at all times.
6. Report to work in clean and neat clothes.
7. Wash hands frequently throughout the day and before preparing food.
8. Leave the work area and equipment clean before going off duty.
9. Demonstrate ability to assure safe and efficient operation in performing his/her abilities.
10. Get the needed food supplies from the storeroom, freezer and refrigerator using appropriate body mechanics.
11. Obey the safety rules and regulations of the department and report any faulty equipment or unsafe conditions to the Director and/or Supervisor.
12. Carry out instructions of the Director and/or Supervisor and make necessary changes as directed by management.
13. Follow policies and procedures of the facility and department.
14. Attend departmental and facility in services, as indicated.
15. Complete special projects or other related work as requested or required.
16. Demonstrate willingness to rotate to other areas of facility within the limits of preparation and skill level.
17. Conform to uniform and dress code, personal hygiene and good grooming.
18. Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with GRNH, LLC’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.  Failure to comply with the company’s policies and procedures on client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
19. May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties.  The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific client information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other GRNH, LLC operations.
20. Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding GRNH, LLC’s policies and procedures on client privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
21. Perform other duties assigned.

Salary : $17 - $19
