What are the responsibilities and job description for the Appearance Attorney Consumer Defense position at Guardian Litigation Group?
Guardian Litigation Group is one of the largest consumer defense firms in the country. We represent people who are being sued over consumer debt, and we need licensed Texas attorneys to appear in court on our clients’ behalf in Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Montgomery and Galveston counties.
This is independent, per-appearance work. You choose which hearings you take. There’s no minimum, no schedule and no quota.
How it works
- We send you hearings in the counties you cover by email or text.
- You claim the ones that fit your calendar in one tap. If the posted rate doesn’t work for you, send a counter-offer.
- You get the case details, documents and the result we want before the hearing.
- You appear, then submit a short result form within 24 hours.
- You’re paid monthly by bank transfer for every completed appearance.
What you’d be doing
- Mostly short civil hearings in justice and county courts: docket calls, status settings, continuances and first appearances.
- You always appear for the defendant, the consumer.
Compensation
- $150 per appearance, depending on the court and the hearing.
- You’re paid for every completed appearance, and a cancellation fee applies when a confirmed hearing is cancelled within 24 hours.
You’ll be a good fit if you
- Are licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Are already in these courthouses, or near them, for your own practice.
- Want flexible extra income without taking on new clients.
- Are comfortable representing consumers. Many attorneys tell us creditor-side networks screen them out for defense work; we want you.
