Supply Chain Assistant

Guardian Booth is a leading manufacturer of prefabricated structures such as guard shacks, ticket kiosks, trailer booths, modular workspaces, wall systems and modular homes. We deliver nationwide, and export to Mexico and Canada.

We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and energetic individual to join our company as a Supply Chain Assistant at our corporate office in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. As an integral member of our operations team, this position will support production in the acquisition of parts, supplies, and materials required to ensure on-time deliveries for the fulfillment of orders to a variety of small and large corporations. They will communicate with production, ensure proper planning, and work in a collaborative environment with the logistics department and with our leadership team to ensure that the correct inventory is on hand at all times to prevent any delays in production and meet the customer demand. This role is critical to the team's success to enhance the organization's performance and growth.

Supply Chain Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in processing customer demand within the ERP system, helping create MRP reports and supporting the production scheduling process for plants in the USA and Mexico.
• Support the understanding and execution of basic planning relationships within MRP systems.
• Assist in issuing Purchase Orders to vendors for direct materials and MRO items.
• Help coordinate logistics for overseas inbound shipments and trans-border movements and collaborate with sister site on material flow, including shared and redistributed material.
• Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, fostering a cooperative approach based on mutual benefits.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team on material lead times and receiving operations to ensure are purchases arrive complete, accurate and within cost targets.
• Collaborate with the team to help manage inventory levels to support uninterrupted supply while maintaining optimal cash flow.
• Assist in tracking and monitoring supply chain performance, contributing to reports for leadership on inventory and logistics status.
• Help ensure that safety stock levels are appropriately maintained by assisting with demand analysis and forecasting activities.
• Support production teams in executing daily production plans in both the USA and Mexico.
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency.
• Assist in creating contingency plans to address potential disruptions in materials or transportation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track and report on supply chain activities, providing timely and accurate information for decision-making.
• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and support the team’s efforts to improve supply chain performance.
• Participate in cross-functional meeting remaining informed on material statuses and timelines.
• Perform support functions to include coordinating internal or external product deliveries and the backhaul of materials and products.

Education Requirements and Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have education or technical training in a related field, or the equivalent in work experience.
• An APICS/ASCM or similar Certification is a plus, but not required.
• The candidate should have at least 1-2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, or a related field, preferably using an ERP system.
• Basic understanding of vendor management, forecasting, and inventory control is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to analyze data, create reports, and track inventory accurately.
• Willingness to learn about supply chain management and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to remove waste, reduce cost and improve form/fit/function of materials.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
