Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Cost Estimator to join us at Guaranteed Fence Corporation. Guaranteed Fence has been a trusted South Florida construction organization for 23 years, specializing in commercial fence and highway guardrail.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of commercial fencing and guardrail projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your estimating skills in a collaborative environment, working with project managers, contractors, and our FDOT stakeholders!
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope documents.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as Bluebeam to prepare detailed bid proposals.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and material pricing to ensure precise cost calculations.
- Collaborate with project management teams to review project plans, identify potential cost savings, and manage budget constraints.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to support effective cost control and identify variances early.
- Assist in contract review and administration, ensuring all costs align with contractual obligations and project objectives.
- Proactively engage with existing and new clients to develop strong relationships.
Skills (Preferred) We will train you!
- Proficiency in construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Experience with construction site operations, management practices, and safety standards.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Solid understanding of contracts, project management principles, and cost control techniques.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams including contractors, clients, and suppliers.
