Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Controller / Senior Accountant to support financial operations, budgeting, and production planning within our growing food manufacturing company.
This role combines accounting, financial analysis, and operational planning to ensure accurate reporting, cost control, and efficient production scheduling.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Excel and QuickBooks, understands inventory and manufacturing cost structures, and is comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and production teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Accounting
- Oversee daily accounting functions using QuickBooks
- Generate and analyze financial statements and operational reports
- Assist with budget development and financial forecasting
- Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) and analyze production margins
- Perform cost analysis
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports
- Reconcile inventory, purchasing, and production data
Production & Inventory Planning
- Assist with production planning and scheduling
- Program and manage daily production batches
- Prepare raw material requirement reports based on purchase orders
- Monitor raw material consumption and inventory levels
- Analyze production output and efficiency
- Convert and track food manufacturing metrics (weights and yields)
Operations & Vendor Coordination
- Work with vendors to review pricing and negotiate costs when appropriate
- Assist in procurement analysis and purchasing planning
- Coordinate between production, warehouse, and accounting teams
Administrative & HR Support
- Assist with light human resources budgeting and payroll analysis
- Support operational planning and workforce allocation
- Maintain organized financial and operational records
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4 years experience in accounting, finance, or manufacturing operations
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
- Experience with inventory accounting and COGS analysis
- Understanding of manufacturing or food production environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
