Duties / Responsibilities

  • 8-Step Repair Execution: Perform thorough disassembly, repair, and reassembly following G.U. Collision Center’s 8-Step Repair Process and OEM technical guidelines.
  • Diagnostics & ADAS: Assist with pre- and post-repair electronic diagnostic scans and support ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) recalibration workflows to ensure vehicle safety systems function accurately.
  • OEM Parts Priority: Execute "repair or replace" decisions prioritizing OEM/Original parts to maintain factory fit, finish, structural integrity, and cycle time targets.
  • Access & Teardown: Remove upholstery, interior accessories, trim, electrical hardware, and hydraulic components to access damaged panels, frames, and sub-assemblies.
  • Structural & Body Repair: Perform structural frame alignment, panel replacement, airbag system replacement, sheet metal welding, and light mechanical repair work.
  • Metal Finishing & Prep: File, grind, pull, fill, and sand repaired surfaces using hand and power tools to ensure seamless preparation for refinishing.
  • Production & Insurance Communication: Work directly with the Production Manager, Estimators, and insurance adjusters regarding repair progress, damage discovery during teardown, and supplement requests.
  • Multi-Stage Quality Control: Adhere strictly to G.U. Collision Center’s multi-phase quality control checkpoints at each phase (disassembly, structural/body, refinish, and final reassembly).
  • Safety & Environment: Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), follow proper repair procedures, and comply with all hazardous waste disposal requirements.
  • Shop Maintenance: Keep personal stall organized, return specialized tools, maintain parts/materials carts, and assist in keeping the facility safe and efficient.
  • Attend team production meetings and perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience / Skill Requirements

  • 2–5 years of professional auto body collision repair experience required.
  • High School diploma / GED required; technical school collision graduate preferred.
  • I-CAR Certification or ASE training required (I-CAR Non-Structural / Steel Structural or ASE B4 preferred).
  • Hands-on experience operating frame equipment, laser measuring systems, and modern welding tools.
  • Familiarity with OEM repair procedures, diagnostic scanning devices, and ADAS calibration concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple vehicle repair orders simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Must provide own hand tools and power tools (in good working condition).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and pull regularly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy vehicle components and equipment weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and strong eye/hand coordination for operating specialized machinery and power tools.
  • Standing, walking, and performing repetitive physical motions over extended periods.

Work Environment

Exposure to:

  • Paint, dust, grinding particles, and chemical fumes/toxins.
  • Variable shop temperatures (heat/cold).
  • Intermittent high noise levels from pneumatic tools and machinery.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1,000.00 - $2,500.00 per week

  • Auto body repair: 5 years (Preferred)
