This role ensures accurate material handling, ERP transactions, compliance with safety regulations, and high productivity while supporting the daily operational needs of the logistics team. The specialist must consistently demonstrate strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.Key Responsibilities:Promote a culture of “Do It Safely, Do It Right the First Time.”Identify unsafe conditions and promptly report hazards; participate in monthly safety meetings.Operate safely and efficiently to meet daily productivity goals.Follow all work instructions, SOPs, and safety protocols, including HAZWOPER, ECP, and LOTO.Prepare cylinders for shipment (label removal, painting, inspecting, wrapping, barcode scanning, palletizing, etc.).Perform shipping and receiving ERP transactions (SAP HANA).Ensure accuracy of all ERP data for operational efficiency.Prepare shipping paperwork per DOT regulations.Coordinate deliveries and pickups with common carriers and internal sites.Load/unload trucks and sea containers using a forklift; apply blocking/bracing per IMO, IMDG, and Customs requirements.Maintain inventory control records and conduct cycle counts.Locate cylinders/canisters in collaboration with internal teams.Verify the quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.Maintain warehouse security and ensure all activities comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.Perform cylinder rolling (tilt and roll up to 200 lbs).Maintain clean, organized work areas and conduct equipment inspections.Complete all mandated training requirements.Required Experience:High School Diploma or GED.3 years of logistics operations experience (shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management).Ability to roll cylinders up to 200 lbs.Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and climb ladders.Forklift certification required.Ability to understand hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases.Experience with IMO, AES, ISF documentation.Strong customer service orientation.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Docs/Sheets/Slides.Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, IMDG.Ability to work at both ALAM Pennsylvania sites (if required).Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in fast-paced environments.Must be clean-shaven and pass medical/respirator fitness testing.Nice-to-Have Experience:SAP or prior ERP experience.Knowledge of hazardous materials handling.Experience with cylinder preparation or compressed gas logistics.Required Skills:Shipping & receiving operationsERP / SAP transactionsForklift operationPreferred Skills:Inventory control and cycle countingInternational shipping documentationSafety compliance and hazard recognitionAdditional Skills:Cylinder rollingDOT regulatory understandingStrong communication skillsAbility to maintain secure and orderly warehouse operationsBenefits:Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401(k) Retirement FundAbout the Company:A global leader in gases, technologies, and services for industry and healthcare, operating in 60 countries and serving over 4 million customers and patients.
