Duties
- Collaborate with licensed physical therapists to develop and execute individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Provide hands-on therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, and manual mobilizations to enhance patient recovery.
- Assist in conducting assessments of patient physiology and anatomy to inform treatment strategies.
- Support inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facility patients by delivering targeted physiotherapy interventions.
- Monitor patient progress, document treatment outcomes, and adjust care plans accordingly to ensure optimal results.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility techniques, discharge planning, and injury prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical terminology records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Valid certification or licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
- Demonstrated experience in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and various physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy.
- Experience working with diverse populations such as pediatrics, orthopedics, geriatrics, and patients requiring discharge planning or acute care.
- Familiarity with care plans development for patients in outpatient or clinic settings.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
