Duties
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients to assess mobility, strength, coordination, and developmental progress using physiology knowledge and medical terminology.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans focused on patient rehabilitation, orthopedics, neurology, and geriatrics when applicable.
- Provide hands-on therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and caregivers to ensure cohesive care plans.
- Manage clinical documentation standards by maintaining accurate electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems for all patient interactions.
- Assist in discharge planning by evaluating patient progress and recommending home & community care strategies to support ongoing recovery.
- Engage with patients and families through clear communication about treatment goals, progress updates, and post-treatment care instructions.
Experience
- Proven experience practicing in a physical therapy role within outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals, or home health environments.
- Will take on recent Grads.
- Demonstrated expertise working with pediatric populations across diverse settings such as outpatient rehabilitation centers or inpatient units.
- Prior acute care experience preferred to handle complex cases involving neurology or orthopedics in hospital settings.
- Familiarity with outpatient experience including outpatient clinic experience or outpatient rehabilitation center experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to pediatrics and geriatrics enhances your ability to develop effective treatment plans.
- Experience working with geriatric patients or in home & community care environments is considered an asset.
- Ability to adhere to medical terminology standards while managing physical therapy documentation efficiently within EMR systems.
