GTI Energy is seeking a skilled Millwright to support mechanical assembly and system integration within modular data center builds. This role involves installing, aligning, and assembling mechanical equipment such as cooling systems, pumps, piping, and structural components within prefabricated modules.
You’ll work from mechanical drawings, isometric diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision alignment skills, and experience with industrial equipment or modular systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Assembly & System Integration
- Assemble and install mechanical equipment including cooling units, pumps, heat exchangers, and structural components
- Integrate piping systems, valves, and mechanical components per engineering specifications
- Support full system builds across mechanical, structural, and electrical disciplines
Equipment Installation & Alignment
- Install, level, and align rotating and stationary equipment
- Perform precision alignment using lasers, levels, and measurement tools
- Verify tolerances, clearances, and mechanical integrity
Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometric drawings (ISO), and P&IDs
- Follow BOMs to ensure accurate component installation
- Troubleshoot and resolve fit-up and alignment issues
Piping & Mechanical Systems
- Install prefabricated piping systems (e.g., chilled water/cooling systems)
- Align and secure flanges, valves, and fittings
- Ensure systems are ready for testing and commissioning
Quality & Safety
- Maintain compliance with ISO9001 quality standards and OSHA regulations
- Ensure precision installation to support First Pass Yield (FPY)
- Verify torque, alignment, and installation accuracy
Continuous Improvement
- Support Lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement)
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce rework
Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
- Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning
Required Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience as a Millwright, Mechanical Assembler, or Industrial Installer
- Strong mechanical assembly and equipment installation experience
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and isometric diagrams
- Experience aligning pumps, piping systems, and industrial equipment
- Knowledge of tolerances, fit-up, and alignment techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in modular construction, skid-based systems, or data center infrastructure
- Background in chilled water, cooling systems, or industrial HVAC
- Familiarity with rigging and equipment positioning
- Experience in manufacturing or contract production environments
- Trade certification, apprenticeship, or technical training
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing practices
Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
