Material Handler - 1st/2nd Shift

GTI is a contract manufacturing partner supporting customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems.

We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. Our scope spans Engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision.

Preform a combination of tasks including but not limited to receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner
• Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information
• Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages
• Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to trucks, conveyors, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task
• Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, and/or elevator
• Assists machine operators as needed by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist
• Stacks and assembles materials
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment
• Participates in quality improvement efforts
• Operates forklifts and overhead cranes
• Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management
  
  
  
  

Requirements

• One to two years related experience or equivalent
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods
• Forklift certified
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in metal fabrication industry
