We’re searching for an Inspection Operations Manager to lead all Quality Control inspection and metrology functions. You’ll be the go-to SME for inspection (non-NDT) and measurement systems, ensuring issues are found early, contained fast, and recorded right the first time.
What will you be responsible for?
- Directing inspection processes so product conformity is verified as early as possible in the workflow.
- Deploying people and equipment to maximize inspection throughput and effectiveness.
- Ensuring nonconformances are documented accurately and quickly, with proper containment of affected product.
- Making sure the right inspection technologies are available and utilized to increase efficiency.
- Driving calibration activities to industry standards and on schedule to support production and inspection.
- Confirming final production records are complete and accurate for seamless Quality Assurance processing.
- Supporting regulatory audits per relevant regulatory bodies and standards.
- Monitoring adherence to manufacturing and inspection processes and correcting deviations.
How will you make it happen?
- Continuously assess planning-stage inspection methods to remove redundancy and non–value-added steps.
- Provide metrology guidance to the Quality Assurance team.
- Build controls and metrics to track departmental performance and direct-report goals.
- Shape departmental strategy and long-term vision.
- Lead the QC team with a focus on morale, engagement, and professional growth.
- Manage the QC training program to ensure it’s effective and aligned to actual inspection work.
- Map inspector capabilities, track progression, and set training targets to close skill gaps.
- Stay current on inspection philosophies and technologies so GTC’s capabilities remain on par with the industries we serve.
Do you have the background?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 10 years of experience in quality disciplines (manufacturing preferred).
- Supervisory experience leading a technical function; defense-based manufacturing preferred.
- Successful track record delivering quality improvement activities and projects.
