Purpose:
The Paving Material Processing Parts Specialist is responsible for the procurement, inventory management, and logistics of parts and equipment for paving and material processing operations. In this role, you will assist internal technicians and external customers with identifying, sourcing, and ordering the correct parts for specialized heavy equipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction, reducing equipment downtime, and supporting efficient service operations. This role ensures that necessary parts and components are available, maintains accurate inventory records, and efficiently manages the flow of parts to and from job sites.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers at the parts counter, over the phone, and via email

Accurately identify required parts for equipment such as pavers, milling machines, crushers, and screeners using catalogs, schematics, and computer systems

Provide parts recommendations and cross-selling related components to improve machine performance and reliability.

Process parts orders efficiently and accurately using the company’s inventory and ERP systems

Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of parts requests for both internal service technicians and external customers

Handle special orders, returns, and warranty claims per company policy

Develop and maintain strong familiarity with paving, milling, and crushing equipment from manufacturers such as Wirtgen Group (Vögele, Wirtgen, Hamm, Kleemann), and others

Work closely with the service department to prioritize urgent parts needs for field and shop repairs

Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers to expedite critical orders or resolve issues

Coordinate the delivery of parts to job sites and ensure timely retrieval of materials

Track parts usage and anticipate future part needs based on operational demands

Organize and manage parts storage to ensure easy access and proper handling

Conduct regular cycle counts

Assist in training new team members or sharing best practices with peers

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred

2 years of experience in parts management or procurement, preferably in the construction or equipment industry

Strong organizational and inventory management skills

Knowledge of paving material processing equipment and components is a plus

Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Strong communication and problem-solving skills
-
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet company driving requirements
