We are looking for a skilled Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to help keep our shop and field equipment operating safely and efficiently.This job is Safety-Sensitive. Position Summary
The Equipment Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of industrial equipment, hand tools, and machinery. This role requires experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems, as well as a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair of industrial equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on shop and field equipment.
- Repair and maintain hand and power tools.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Purchase parts and materials needed for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs when approved by management.
- Assist with fabrication, welding, assembly, driving, and other shop-related activities as needed.
- Support production teams on projects that require maintenance expertise.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, including electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, climb, kneel, reach overhead, and perform physical maintenance activities.
- Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and machinery.
Working Conditions
- Primarily works in a controlled shop environment.
- Occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- May be required to respond to equipment breakdowns or emergencies outside of normal work hours.
