Job Description:
The Infrastructure Solutions Architect is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and related infrastructure for the Transportation Operations Center. This role requires experience, creativity, and multi-tasking to independently and collaboratively achieve department service and support objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to Tier 1 & 2 support requests and break/fix requests for end user resources.
- Provide exceptional customer service and effective communication with teammates and customers of varying technical expertise.
- Configure and deploy new/replacement desktop/laptop computer equipment and peripherals.
- Maintain project and architecture documentation, as well as up-to-date inventory and maintenance records.
- Monitor system resources for server/service anomalies and resolve connection issues between users and resources.
- Maintain detailed change history of changes within systems.
- Support team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls, threat hunting, and mitigation.
- Manage time and resource constraints for multi-tasking across support objectives.
- Ensure system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to Commonwealth policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Oversee systems administration engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance, and R&D to ensure continual innovation.
- Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware/peripherals/services in accordance with standards and operational requirements.
- Perform daily system monitoring, security monitoring, backup operations, and file archival/purge.
- Create, change, and delete user accounts as required.
- Provide Tier III and other support as needed, troubleshoot, diagnose, and recover from hardware/software failures.
- Apply OS patches, upgrades, and configure/add new services as necessary.
- Upgrade system software supporting GIS infrastructure or Asset Management applications.
- Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures. Report on performance and support capacity planning.
- Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
